Here’s a photo of my two (2!) ultra-rare Toshiba X4 35mm point and shoot cameras, IMO the finest 35mm P&S camera ever manufactured, superior to even the fabled Ricoh GR and super-popular Yashica T4, and available for 1/5th the price. The Toshiba’s spectacular 39mm fixed length Turgistar lens is renowned for it’s tack sharp resolution and signature bokeh. Sadly, this remarkable compact was eclipsed by its more popular competitors, especially the Olympus Mju II and Contax T2. While a measurably superior performer, the X4 never caught on, in part due to its delicate chrome finish and fragile construction. Today it’s significantly harder to find than other 35mm compacts models on the used market, so a clean and operative Toshiba X4 is almost impossible to find.
