Check plantstoplanets's Instagram An incredibly exciting announcement has been made that a national space agency will be opening in Australia! For those of you who don't know, I am Australian, so this announcement is super exciting for me!! Whilst I doubt we will get an Australian NASA, having a space agency will open up thousands of job opportunities for many young scientists in a huge variety of fields, which is amazing! I love all sciences, and whilst I major in chemistry and biology, physics is incredibly close to my heart, because it gives an underlying connection between everything. So, let the celebration begin as Australia takes a great step forward! In the midst of excitement, I threw this design together for @redbubble last night, it's simple, but I hope someone out there likes it! After a busy few weeks studying, it is eye-opening to have a reminder that there are things bigger than our own small world, and more important questions to explore. THIS IS WHY I LOVE SCIENCE! There are so many important things to know and learn while we are alive so we can help each other! Okay I will stop the ranting Have an amazing day curious people I'll post products with this design soon! #redbubble #design #sciart #scifashion #space #astronomy #moon #stars #planets #rockets #astrophysics #physics #chemistry #biology #geology #particlephysics #earth #science #sciences 1612133089495229918_2285478808

Check universety's Instagram Compact and round, NGC 7008 is recognized as a planetary nebula about 2,800 light-years distant in the nebula rich constellation of Cygnus. This impressive telescopic view shows off NGC 7008's remarkable colors and details by the skillful combination of broad band and narrow band images from two different telescopes with about 12 hours of total exposure time. The intriguing assortment of features within the nebula's approximately 1 light-year diameter suggest its popular name, the Fetus Nebula, but planetary nebulae are not associated with star birth. Instead, nebulae like NGC 7008 are produced during a brief phase that sun-like stars pass through toward the end of their lives. Ejecting their outer layers, the stars cool to eventually become white dwarf stars, like the star seen near the center of NGC 7008. This colorful image also includes an unrelated but still lovely gold and blue binary star system just below NGC 7008.

Check astrogasm_'s Instagram @space_physics_geeks - Asclepius passed by Earth on 22 March 1989, at a distance of 0.00457 AU (684,000 km; 425,000 mi). Although this exceeds the Moon's orbital radius, the close pass received attention at that time, especially since the asteroid passed through the exact position of Earth only six hours earlier.

Check apolloxxiv's Instagram Sorry for the absence! School and work are quite taxing!

Our dearest Luna, as captured by yours truly using the Indiana University Kirkwood 12 in. Refractor telescope and my phone. How did it get there you may ask? According to our current theories for solar system formation, the early solar system was an incredibly hellish place where the terrestrial planets were still molten and collisions were incredibly common. We conjecture that while the Earth was still cooling, a massive impactor smashed into proto-Earth, sending a large portion of its molten material into an orbit around our young world. From there, physics took over--never lost control!--and spun that molten ejecta into a spherical shape that later cooled and became the moon we see today. Compositional analyses of lunar rock samples supports this, and with the lack of an atmosphere, thus the lack of weather and erosion, the surface is relatively intact since the moon cooled and the solar system cleared. The craters that pock the face of the moon are thus clear indicators of an early epoch of bombardment by objects in the early solar system!

The dark circle cut off is the edge of the eyepiece, and the purple rings are reflective artifacts from my camera lens and the eyepiece.

Follow me through the stars! [@apollo.xxiv]
