You want to allow yourself at least a week for every 0.5kg of body weight lost, this is generally speaking as the heavier person will lose more due to the overall percentage of bodymass and vice versa for a lighter person, but overall this is a good number to start with. So if you have 3kg to loose, 6 weeks is no sweat! I recommend weighing yourself once a week say for instance Saturday morning, and aiming for the 0.5kg or less drop each week.
