I'm going to keep this post VERY basic✅. But I'm sure it will open up some debate. 'WHAT IS PAIN?' This has been a question since the beginning of time, but I think a lot of us can agree:
➡️It's a distressing sensory or emotional experience associated with real or potential tissue damage

☝️Let's be clear, We NEED pain. It's the body's way of telling us there is potentially something going on with our tissue, and we need to be aware of it. That being said, sometimes pain exaggerates how bad the problem really is, especially long-term pain.

If you check the video above from @telehealther we see the pathway of pain:
Pain Stimulus to tissue
Pain Signal sent to Spinal Cord from Peripheral Nerve
Signal sent up Spinal cord to the Thalmus in the brain
Final sensation felt in the somato-sensory cortex of the brain (we feel it )

This is the basic pathway of pain, but along the way Pain can be ⬇️inhibited or ⬆️enhanced in areas like the cortex (beliefs, fears), Spinal cord (such as chronic pain). Or it can be masked by other signals (such as with pressure when you rub your toe after you stub it ). Pretty complex right? Hope these basics were useful though!

As a NeuroStructural Chiropractor our focus is never pain but rather the underlying CORE PROBLEM causing it

Inte för sympatier, för livet händer- och det är det jag vill poängtera. Hur fint, harmoniskt och perfekt allt ser ut på sociala medier gömmer sig vardagen. Livet. Min vecka har bestått av tårar, ångest, sömnlöshet, utmärkelse sämsta kollega, sämsta mamma... name it! Jag tvivlar på mig själv. På det jag gör.
Det jag tror på. Jag har frossat i knäckebröd med smör och ost till kvällsteet. Jag saknar min träning. Höjdpunkten blir att fira morgondagens 5 åring. Äntligen, haft nedräkning i 40 dagar!
