It's odd how much we seek approval from others, getting validation from compliments and likes. Even today I looked at the photo on the left and thought to myself that's not "Instagram worthy" enough for this post because my face looks weird and I have a skin roll 
But that just goes to show the amount of pressure we put on ourselves to seem perfect!! But we don't need to! These are normal things and we don't look the same in all our photos! You shouldn't need a 'perfect' 'instagrammable' photo of yourself to love yourself. You shouldn't let the amount of likes you get, dictate how you feel about yourself. We all look different and those differences make you, you!! Nobody looks the same 24/7 in all their photos so don't be hard on yourself trying to look like everyone you see on social media!! Love your uniqueness because it's amazing and makes you the lovely person that you are!! ☀️

Instagram vs reality ‍♀️ It's odd how much we seek approval from others, getting validation from compliments and likes. Shout out to my co-worker who invited me to join ☺️ First, what an amazing thing to gift someone, an opportunity to experience a wellness activity. Second, the yoga teacher said something that she had heard the other day, and felt it was worth repeating to her class that has been on my mind every since

She kept repeating, "Slow down, don't rush. Life's too short." I love this because usually I tend to ZOOOOOM through, physically and mentally bc I want to experience it all, or make the most out of each second. I don't want to waste time, ya know??

This made me think, SLOWING DOWN doesn't mean you necessarily miss anything. It can mean I'm present and soaking up all I can. Valuing where I am at, and taking my time to get where, if anywhere, I want to be.

Have you ever thanked your body for what it has done, is doing, or what it is able to do?! The answer is probably no, which is pretty normal. Unless you have been seriously injured, worked your ass off to heal, and came back from it, you probably aren't aware of how AMAZING your body truly is.

Think about everything your body has done for you, whether it's carrying and birthing your children (bravo for that), healing from an injury or an illness, catching yourself before you fell or slipped, or the simple acts of being able to carry your baby in your arms, carry the groceries in from the car, or even reach for the remote, your body is working in its highest order just for you! Think about how huge that is.

Being healthy isn't easy work, but it's pays off more than I can even describe! Thank your body for all that it does every day for you!

Check quantumcognition's Instagram The problem with prioritising uni and work over yourself is that sooner or later, that to do list capsizes, sending out emergency calls for our own wellbeing. But then prioritising self care means that we avoid our responsibilities, only to later stress out majorly and start the vicious cycle again. Thus it has been over the past week.

What is balance? Idk. Tryna find it but I slipped. S'okay. It happens. But it's funny because this week's 'achievements' have oscillated from pulling off the pre-production side of a film schedule, to actually getting myself out of the house today. Who knew one's mind could see-saw so spontaneously! Still, I must value both achievements equally, and thank my brain and body for working with me. Can't allow myself to feel crap. Gotta look at the good things in life. And appreciate the fact that I'm still aliveeeeee.

After 6 weeks of my body getting used to macro counting and one hell of a cheat meal yesterday night (I’m just gonna say: too.much.carbs. Like probably my amount of carbs for 2 days at least ), well... this morning’s full body circuit has never been so DAMN tough. Maybe it WAS indeed a hard one (so much heart pumping ) but it didn’t feel that much different from the usual so... man oh man, I guess never again a cheat meal like this ✌ and cherry on top: followed by a dynamic yoga class woot!
