Life is like a mountain. You start at the bottom, and you start to make your way up. But then some bullshit like a snake comes and bites your ankle and you need emergency care...but maaaan you really want to get back on that mountain. So you do, you get back up there...but then you run out of water and you’re dehydrated but woooowww the views are incredible up here, so you try to keep going. Then a stranger shares some water and you think, wow! People can be so great. You keep climbing. You find a waterfall. It’s majestic and it refreshes your weary soul, your weary mind. You collect more water. You keep climbing. You see somebody who needs water and you’ve got some to give now, so you give it. You keep climbing, and your body tires. Your body aches. You’ve been in the sun too long, with no rest in sight. How are you going to DO this?
The answer: you just do. We just do. We treat people well along our way, and they do the same. We ask for help when we need it. We rest when we can. We love on our friends and on strangers who need it. Snakes may come and poison us. People may come and poison us. But we have to keep going. We’ll reach the top stronger and wiser, and we’ll know who our friends are. And the tan from our journey under the sun is pretty fabulous, too.
