#detroitnewsyou can use:#meijerInc. plans to open a store in a new East Jefferson Avenue #developmentin #detroitthat's also expected to include more than 200 #apartments , according to two sources familiar with the matter.The plans would add a #groceryoption near downtown, where such choices are few, and represent Meijer's first small-format store in Detroit. Detroit has two Meijer superstores now, though none near downtown.The new store, which would be considerably smaller than the company's other two Detroit locations, is expected to be 42,400 square feet, according to a page on one of the developer's websites.The $60 million development by Lormax Stern, Dennis Archer Jr. and Marcel Burgler is expected to open in 2019 and would include the first small-format store for Meijer in Detroit.The project, slated for 1475 E. Jefferson Ave. between Rivard and Riopelle streets, is planned to have 213 apartments, 221 parking spaces for #residentsand 120 spaces for shoppers, according to the website of Bloomfield Hills-based Lormax Stern Development Co. LLC, one of the project's developers along with Dennis Archer Jr. and Marcel Burgler. The Lormax website page was deactivated Wednesday afternoon. The project is expected to open in 2019.

It's the largest such grant ever given in Lexington, the news release stated.The exterior of the Cadillac House — not known for its beauty after a 1970s modernization effort — will be restored to resemble the original 1860 construction, according to the release. It will still have a tavern on its first floor. The hotel on the building's second and third floors will have 12 rooms.The building stopped operating as an inn in the 1960s and its restaurant closed in summer 2016.The original inn operated 30 rooms and closed in the 1960s. The first-floor restaurant continued on until May 2016.Stacy Fox, principal of the Roxbury Group, bought the Cadillac House last summer, the release said. The Loft Warehouse has just sold the property for $2.65 million.According to Crain’s, the new owner is Blue Star Property Investors LLC, a Michigan-based group. No word yet on if there are plans to build more on the land. The previous owners had bought the house for $275,000 in 2011, then renovated it.
