Hip Thrusts Common Mistakes & CorrectionsMISTAKES - Back is hyperextended at top of movement.- Not pushing through heels.- Coming up on toes.- Neck is not in a neutral position.- Load is on lower backCORRECTIONS- Drive through the heels.- Knees and ankles should be in line.- Control the movement.- Keep your chin down.- Squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement.- Use a slight posterior pelvic tilt to engage the glutes.CUES - Chin down and stay looking forward at the same object throughout the movement. - Think of driving your heels through the ground to squeeze your glutes. Screw your feet into the ground. - Don't let your knees come inwards. Resist the knees outwards especially as you push up. This will give you more external rotation of the hip and tension on the glutes. - Think about tucking your pelvis in underneath your body. - Keep your abs slightly crunched and don't let the distance between your chest and belly button lengthen during the lift.
