#vegan Banana Layered Sponge with a Chocolate & Orange Frosting... All natural, plant-based ingredients, and it hit the sweet spot, reeeally hit the sweet spot (mmmm.... maybe I added too much maple syrup in the frosting?). 🌱 But a dessert has to hit the sweet spot right? Or does it? 🌱 I added fruit and maple syrup galore in the cake to give it its sweetness (as well as beetroot powder in two of the layers... yep, made it sweeter as well as darker). And cashew nuts, avocados, cacao butter and oil which adds flavour and of course the accompanying fat. 🌱 As a nutritionist I wonder, and for once this question is not rhetorical, I'm genuinely interested in what people think.... 🌱 ....overall do people worry more about fat and sugar content, or WHERE the fat and sugar is sourced from? 🌱 For me I know it's the latter, I eat from all natural plant-based ingredients and I just consume such desserts in small portions and enjoy with pleasure. Rainy cold days call for foods to warm up the soul! Heated up bone broth on the stove and added turmeric + 1 tsp olive oil + pepper + cilantro + fresh lime! While the broth was heating up I sautéed some mushrooms and 1/4 of a small onion. Once everything was ready I combined the broth and veggies. Topped with cubed avocados!! So delicious guys!!!
After taking some time off, I am feeling awakened now to emerge from the cocoon...🦋 . The winter season brings all that abundance in citruses. I am particularly fond of blood oranges and this post is devoted to these beauties🍊 . This hearty salad is built on a base of warm quinoa grains, embellished with chopped 🥑, French breakfast radishes, baby arugula 🌿 and juicy segments of supremed blood oranges. It’s served with a citrus Tahini dressing (see recipe below): . Makes 1/4 cup serving: - 1 Tbs organic Tahini - 1 Tbs olive oil - Juice from 2 small blood oranges - 1/2 tsp sugar - Mix all of the above in a bowl and whisk to combine until runny in texture... add in the orange juice gradually to the desired creamy consistency . .
